Merry Christmas 2014

Hope everyone woke and found Santa has visited.

In this great time remember what we are really celebration.

My kids have lost touch with its meaning so we had a refresher this year around the dinner table. (It was needed.)

Good times.

----

For now I am off to the pharmacy. I hope they are open. My love is sick with another bug going around. Merry Christmas... And I have the pleasure of researching glucose testers.

----

Now to start preplanning for the new year...

Let's hope I can be more on my game for this blog.

Oh yes... the grandbabies will be here later tonight to open their gifts... Let's hope for some good pictures. For now I will leave you with a picture of what all my girls surprised me with.

Freeze Ahead Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cream together:
2 cups butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar

Beat in:
1 tablespoon vanilla
4 eggs

Stir in:
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
5 1/2 cups sifted flour

Add:
2 cups chocolate chips

Divide into 5 balls.
Wrap tube formed dough in plastic wrap. I wrap and slide into paper towel tubes.

Put tubes in freezer bag to container over night.

When ready  preheat oven to 350F.
Line up all your trays. My oven does 6 trays at a time.
Pull tubes of dough out as needed.

Cut dough 1/3-1/2 inch thick and place on parchment paper tray. (Easy cookie release from tray and easy clean up)

Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Watch all try all levels as they cook differently.

I am guessing Anna was feeling a bit under dressed since she thought it was ok to get into Mimi's supplies to decorate mason jars this year.

Oh that Anna... She should no better then to mess with scissors.

Hard Boiled Egg Savior

This odd little gadget has disappeared from our kitchen.

Eggs would never survive when it comes to youth cooking. They are so distracted anymore.

If you don't have one it is a must.

Breakfast for the babies 12-1-14

Make it fun...
Peacock eggs. Flower toast.
Water for now. Juice after our morning cartoons. Then morning lessons and milk before they brush teeth and go up for a midday nap.
